Hey I have a good load worked up for a 52 gr hp(non boat tail) but saw Sierras website and like the accuracy and ballistics that the bthp is doing. Any of you guys ever used the match grade bthp's in anything (any caliber) and how did they do on game? Sierra says don't use them for big game hunting but I was was wondering how they would do on a yote. Help me out please!!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I had good luck for years with H380 and the Sierra 52 gr among others. Look in your loading manual and work up the most accurate charge for your rifle.

I am using this bullet in my 22-250 Ack to form 100 pieces of brass. My rifle is shooting this forming load just under 1/2 inch. I am using the forming load to hunt with and have so far took one Turkey at round 200 yards with it. My Ack shoots the standard 22-250 almost as well as the formed Ack Case. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I use 34 grains of IMR 3031. I had to slow it down a little (now are running 3900 fps) cuz it was punching out the other side. Goes in and won't come out the other side if you are shooting them at any kind of distance. At close ranges it will still come out but they sure as heck dont go anywhere. I was hoping that I could get a little more distance out of them as far as shooting flat. What all loads do you guys use.

I max with Varget, I think I'm at about 3700 fps? I've never chrono'd them and am just trying to remember what the book lists for fps. I did punch my last dog through and through at 258 yds he was quartering towards me. I was a bit surprised at that as I've had many not exit at all at shorter ranges. Damage was minimal though. No big messy holes. Most of the time though they're frontal shots which wont exit. I shoot 36 grn. Varget and 36 grn. 3031 equally well.

I've had great results with all brands of 52 grn match hollows. The best out of Hornady which I'm switching to when I shoot up my others.

Even though Sierra doesnt recommend them for hunting I have used them in the 25-06 and the 22-250.

I shot a doe early season with the 250 and she took 6 steps before she fell over. 25-06 I have been shooting their match grade 100 grainers and have no problems with the deer not going too far. Within twenty yards, and that is a lung heart shot.

i use 35.5gr of varget with astonishing results my favorite load ever. many yotes have droped with this combo.

I just bought another 500 round brick of these. Shot close to 200 hundred yotes with them in the 22-250.

Great accuracy with minimal damage to the fur. You'll like them.
