22 ARC load data is out on the Hornady website. Links here.

When they post data for a gas gun (assuming most interested are shooting an AR15) why do they still test with a 24" barrel?

I find that interesting also, as they used a more practical 18 inch test platform for the 6mm ARC.

I love all these new calibers!

But everything is scarce, and too expensive these days for me. I will likely be shooting 223/5.56 for life.

For the distances I shoot, I have never wished I had more gun. Only cheaper bullets!!!

I just ordered everything to build an 18" 6mm ARC Friday and paid the .99 for the gas gun load data for it on the Hornady app and noticed that too. Just seems kind of random.

Because they are marketing it against the 22-250 so they gotta inflate the velocity numbers as much as they can!!

That's a fact. It doesn't take much effort to compare 22-250 data with 22 ARC data on Hodgdon's page to see they are worlds apart IMO. Comparing both with a 62gr bullet, the 22-250 is averaging a good 300 fps faster.

I'm glad they didn't do that with the 6mm ARC data

Just built up a 22 arc gas gun with a 24"
1in 7 barrel ..
These Lil cartridges are small but cute

Will it approach 22 250 performance?
As soon as my dies arrive ill let you know .

I did the same for the 6 arc and yesterday first shots had an 87 gr vmax at 3100 fps .
She groups beautifully...

22 arc is a blast ! hard to pick a favorite between the 2 6 or 22 ......lovin both of them
I am blown away by the accuracy with the 6 ARC today with the Zulus LRF on it ..
that damn thing is as clear at 100 yds with it's HD video as Japanese glass on the arkens..

Eabco 24" Barrel 1-7
Surefire 30 cal Socom RC2
anyway ,,,,found a lil load that started to suck together after lapping the barrel
27 GR AA2230
New Starline Nickel 6.5 Brass formed
Fed 205M primer
Hornady 60 Gr Vmax flat base
OAL is seated .020" off lands
3300 fps with 15 FPS average deviation

first shot was at left , made the correction and
let the 4 fly ..

Forming the brass in a 22 arc FL die is easy, 1 step not an issue on any

Truth be told ,,,if you look at the 223 Ackley Improved ballistics it's actually better than the 22 arc ..
It matched all and exceeds in some cases ballistics of the 22 ARC with (drum roll) less powder....

Yes ! and it's obviously a truly inherent accurate round I'd favor to be even more accurate than the 22 arc.
You cannot compare the accuracy or precision of a gas gun AR platform to a Bolt gun...
and the 223 AI is not easy to find a barrel for and convert your AR ...

I have a new Tikka action arriving tomorrow for my 26" 223 AI barrel in a 1-7 twist .
Barrel by Urbanrifleman ....a KRG X Ray chassis and the ARCA enclosed fore end...
My go gauge bought ahead of time from the locals at Manson ..

I'll bet she's gonna make the 22 ARC pale in comparison....
