Doesn't sound like much of a feat until you find out it's an Airgun, not to mention it looks badda$$ to boot!!!

Condor While other air gun manufacturers struggle to break 1200 feet per second in .177, the new Condor easily achieves 1250 in .22 making it the most powerful pellet gun known in this caliber. Premium Lothar Walther barrels insure accurate pellet delivery. The integral scope rail has been lengthened to allow mounting the largest air gun scopes or other specialized optical sighting devices. Additional dovetail rails allow mounting lasers, bipods, and other accessories to provide the shooter with a powerful and adaptive air gun shooting system.
There's more info on this gun from reviews, I couldn't find the best one I read yesterday. But the shooter claims ½" groups to 50 yards. I don't own any "serious" Airguns, but I think if I were to buy one, this would probably be the one!!

was on a site a while back where the members were posting pics of elk they took with air rifles, can't remember if they were 52 or 60 cals.

Yeah, I'm amazed how powerful some of these things are...

By the way, this one is called the Talon, not Condor, and is made by Airforce Airguns out of Texas. The gun comes with a silencer built in when using 12" barrels, but is not adjustable to fit the interchangeable 18" barrel.

Anyone here shoot these high power airguns?

i have a korean made air rifle that ahot 30 gr pellets @ 1100fps when stock. it's now slightly modified and does abt 1100 with a 40 gr solid bullet, not pellet. with a 22 pellet its well over 1300 but the pellet would not stand up to that pace, thankfully the power is adjustable. for really amazing airguns, look up barnes pnuematic. he makes some unbelievable one-offs. one of these will be my next airgun. dennis quackenbush also makes some outstanding big bore airguns

Just don't expect it to be quiet. At that speed it will be every bit as loud as a 22LR.

The accuracy that good match airguns deliver is quite phenominal. To be competitive, a match air rifle must shoot 10 shot groups no larger than .300 MOA and preferably closer to .200 MOA. Now this is indoors so wind and mirage are not a problem, but still phenominal accuracy. Not cheap though with prices running $1500-$3000 without sights or needed accessories.

And like Ridge Runner posted, there are also very large air rifles out there. Don't forget air shotguns. I know a collector who hunts pheasants with an air shotgun quite successfully.

no, he is right that is the condor, a long barrelled version of the talon or stealth(stealth is the 12 ftlb british model) it's new for this year. there are amazing things you can do with this gun if you are a tinkerer because of the valve/tank setup. there is no staging chamber, the valve feeds directly off the bottle. i have a friend who modified the valve and hammer, put a 25 cal barrel on it and shoot 80+gr bullets at 1000+ fps. with this desig, power levels are infinitely adjustable

I've been thinking about one of these air guns myself. It has the same lines to it as the AR15 so practicing my bullseye shooting in my shop out back could be done without blasting holes in the neighbors house. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif  /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

By looks alone I'm sure it is illegal to bring into the state of Kalifornia.

But could I ever unleash some fury on the pigeons around the neighborhood with that setup. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Also in the review the author claimed the gun, when supressed, sounded about like a paintball gun and was quiet enough he could shoot in his backyard without raising suspiscions, and this was with the gun dialed to the maximum power... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Yup, I got a few cats around here I could "peek" out the window at, and nobody would ever miss them... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Can you put a supressor on an air gun without all the Federal BS, taxes, etc.?

By definition, an air powered device is not a "firearm" no matter how powerful.

It just may be legal to 'supress' an air device without jumping through the Federal and state hoops?
