Out of a rifle do you think the cb type ammo with no powder just primer would take rabbits or squirrel or say a domestic cat at around 15 yards?
Thanks
Daryl P.

feral cats... we used cbs for frog hunting years ago. they will penetrate one side of a soda can but do not fully pass through the other from about 10 yards.

They will take out a rabbit, squirrel or a cat @ 15 yards no problem. I have shot rabbits with them before but you have to be sure to thump them in the head.

Yup...

They will do fine.

My CB's went through a bunch of soda cans - someone that says that a 29 grain bullet at 710 fps will penetrate only one side of a soda can, has NEVER shot a 22 CB at a soda can... he was probably too busy "MASTER BAITERING"

The power is about 2/3rds of a 25 auto pistol (ouch!!)

Here is the CCI, CB...

Bullet Weight: 29 Grains
Bullet Style: Lead Round Nose

Ballistics Information:
Muzzle Velocity: 710 fps
Muzzle Energy: 32 ft. lbs.

Even my 22 Crossman airgun will penetrate 6 soda cans, and it's only ~350 fps!

I have killed many ferral cats, and skunks, inside the city limits with the animal control officer using CBs. He hit a large bobcat just under the chin with a CB long one night, he went about 40 yards and piled up. He was on the golf course, I held the light. We were hunting armadillos that were tearing up the greens.

Try 'em in your gun - they were quieter on report than the bullet hitting my plywood backer in my gun, but only about one inch accurate at 10 yards in my Marlin 25. Will kill stuff, head or lungs is best - may not be DRT.

The new CCI Quiets would be worth a look. They are a little faster, but quiet too...supposed to be more accurate than the CB's, too.
