22 dasher any opinions?

So I’ve always been a 22-250 guy but with the availability of premium brass for the dasher it’s got my wheels turning. I run everything 20 or 22in with a can. Mostly be used as a calling rig with 60gr vmaxs or maybe 75gr eld type bullets. Anyone have any real world experience with a 22 dasher and a short barrel? Pros cons over the 22-250?

I was always a 22-250 fan, then switched to the 22 Dasher. I've had several, & built 2 strictly for calling coyotes.

They are tough on barrels, & after burning 1 out at 1500 rounds on prairie dogs, I quit them completely & moved over to 6 Dashers instead.

Now I've transitioned over to the 22x47 and 6x47 Lapuas for coyotes. I recently re-barreled my 23" 8" twist 22x47 barrel to an 18" 12" twist 22x47 for suppressor use, which shoots the 52 Bergers at 3800. It's still a virgin, but I have high hopes for it.

I have no experience with one, but thought it would be the perfect ar15 coyote round. ARP made a short 270 round that used Dasher brass iirc, with a strong bolt and extension built for it. I always wondered why they didn't just make a 6 Dasher also.

Sweet. If you feel up to it, I would like to see some in-depth data for both (22 & 6x47 and accuracy once you get things work out.

So Alf, my main calling rifle right now is a 243 and honestly I like it a lot. I have thought seriously about a 6 Dasher. Why did you go away from it?

It's certainly not that I didn't/don't like a 6 Dasher, I still have 2 or 3 for general plinking & prairie dogs, and my 600/1K BR rifles have been Dashers for nearly 20 years.

Back when I decided to peddle several guns and build my "ultimate" coyote rifle, it was going to be a 6 Dasher, till I found out that it wasn't suited for the Bat VR action I was building around.

Soooo, it turned into a 6x47 Lapua instead. While I never ever had any feeding issues with the Dashers in plain 'ol BDL's, the 6x47 always feeds like shlt through a goose no matter the platform. No fireforming is a bonus as well.

I've put together over a half dozen 6x47's, and my love affair is not waning, I just picked up another barrel so chambered this weekend....don't ask me why......

Sadly, nothing is forever, I sold it last year......

Valid reasons then. Those are the kinds of things a guy needs to know. Thanks for taking the time to answer, I appreciate it.
