I was wondering if anyone knew what the case capacity of a 6mm Hagar necked down once fired was compared to stock 22 Nosler brass? Or even what S&B 6.8 SPC brass necked down and once fired would be.
It's not very scientific but a fire formed Hagar case holds 36.5 grains of CFE223 to the top of the neck. A fire formed Nosler case holds 36.8 grains of CFE223 to the top of the neck. I only tried one random case from each bin.
I'm wondering if it's worth waiting for the next batch of Hagar brass to start my build or if I would be about the same just using S&B 6.8 SPC (or other SPC) brass.

The 6.8 brass is too short to use on the Nosler and still have a neck.
I'm dealing with Starline right now about getting some FACTORY NOSGAR brass made once they get the new 6.8 fixed with hardness and the Valkyrie brass done. T
hey are making a 6.8 BASIC that will be a straight wall case but that will be a bit of a challenge for most guys to form up and the HAGAR brass would probably be a better alternative IMHO
Good point about the case length. That wouldn't leave enough neck to be comfortable.
The plan was to use a spare Savage action with a SPC bolt head that I have. I might just have to put a pre-order in at Creedmoor sports for some Hagar brass and see if I get any before I order a barrel.
