I am going to get another 22 pistol but I am torn between a rugar single six 22/22mag or a taraus 941 22 mag I mainly shot the 22 mag so not having a 22 lr cylinder for the 941 is not that bad but I have never owned a taraus befor a really dont know much about them are they good guns. I have had a rugar single six and they have always been accurate. Lets hear some feed back on the rugar and the taraus please.

I have two Taurus revolvers and a Rossi which is a Taurus owned company. All three are excellent guns. I personally like the double action revolvers, not so much for the double action feature, but for ease of loading and unloading. Nothing wrong with the Ruger single six's though, they are fine little pistols.

I have both the little Rossi which is a piece for piece copy of the Smith and Wesson J framed 22 revolvers and a Ruger MKII target auto. I haven't had a single six for quite a few years now, but have friends with them whom have lots o years of service from them with no problems.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Taurus revolvers along with Rugers also. Which seems more comfortable in your hand?

It really comes down to which you would prefer, a double action or western style single action. Purchase which ever one that suits your taste. My personal preference would be the Ruger Single Six in SS. I'm just not a big fan of Taraus pistols. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused1.gif

I have both, but when I reach for a 22 wheelgun, they stay in the safe in favor of a S&W K-22. But I will admit that the Taurus is a fine shooter for the money. I would lean that way between the two that you mentioned. My Ruger shoots well, but just like double action guns better.

I recently bought a Taurus 941 22 mag,it shoots well and feels good in the hand.Ive always been a fan of the single 6 ,but have to admit I do like the double action for reloading purposes and the fact that it holds 8 rounds.

Well this is an interesting post I have a 941 22mag with 4" barrel ,a Charter Arms Pathfinder 22 lr 4" ,and a Ruger Single Six 5 1/2" 22/22mag . I have had the 941 the longest and it is a great gun . This is a very lite pistol and it holds 8 rounds which is a nice feature . The accuracy is good on the 941 and the action is smooth .The adjustable sites work OK but the windage is adjusted with set screws and after a lot of shooting the set screws vibrate out .I have used thread locker to keep them in place but the screws are so small once you put the tread locker on the screws are there .The single six is a little larger but still a handy gun .I have large hands an it fits me better than the 941 . I also have a set of Houge oversized grips on it .The site has a captured screw and thus no vibration problem .My Pathfinder is stainless with the same type
set screw system on the sites and is not as smooth as the 941 . It holds 6 shots and is liter than the 941 .I like the pathfinder but I have not shot it enough to say this is the way to go . It is American made and it has a very short stroke single action .Accuracy is equal to the 941 .

For a field pistol the 941 is probably the best choice . For shooting the Ruger is probably a little better .However there is not much difference .

Just got this SS a few weeks back. I have several 22 pistols in house now but, this one is just plain fun to shoot. My Browning BuckMark edges it out at far a accuracy by a little but thats had triggerwork done.

Fun gun and I get to pop some Mag's through it too!!

I own both a Taurus 941 22LR (4 in.) and a Ruger Single Six Convertible (5.5 in.).

For sheer ease of carry and reloading the 941 is the winner. Fits on the hip well, short enough to be worn there sitting or standing. Decent factory grip, great sights, acceptable accuracy. Decent single action pull.

I have spent about the last year wearing and shooting one or the other of these two almost daily and have somewhat begrudgingly given an accuracy edge back to the Ruger - there was a time when I would have given it to the Taurus.
Not a huge difference, but it is there. For me and my late 40's eyes, anyway.

If I were faced with a "One or the Other" purchase decision today, though, I would have to give the edge to the swing-out cylinder and 4 inch barrel length of the Taurus.

They are both great pistols that will serve you well, you'll have to decide which fits your needs best.

Keep us posted, I'd be interested in what you decide and why.

I have two of the Single Six's. One an old three screw and a New Model with adjustable sights. I would love to have a K-22, just never ran across one in good shape. I alos have several Auto 22's. When I am just wanting to plink and have fun, the Three Screw gets the nod. I love that clickity click of the old models

Well I went to the gun show yesterday and found and look at the taurus and the rugar the taurus won the deal. It fit my hand alot better. I had to go to gander and order it in the SS version because all they had were blued at the gunb show. Cant wait until it comes in!!!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif
