221 Fireball & Lil' Gun

Well evidently my new 221 Fireball(LVSF) shoots 15.8 grains of Lil' Gun with a 40 grain Blitzking quite well. My last rifle also shot this load quite well but it also quickly resulted in quite loose primer pockets. Last time I switched to 1680 and gave up some accuracy(hated to do that) to save brass and that looks like what I may have to do this time too. Has anyone else experienced this with Lil' Gun in the 221 Fireball? Thoughts?

Thanks.
Matt

I started with Reloder 7 then went to Lil Gun for extra speed it provided and then tried AA 1680 and it shot just as fast and just as accurate and burned maybe slightly cleaner so I stuck with it until recently. I am still using my first 50 pieces of brass and I have at least 500-600 rounds down the barrel so no I have no issues with primer pockets.
My Lil Gun load was 16.0gr with the same 40gr BlitzKing and my 1680 load was 20gr. From my CZ these loads both are in the 3500fps range.
I recently tried some h4198 and it shoots great but the speed is only 3100fps but I use my 221 for night-time hunting so 200 yds is a really long shot so I may use that load for a while.

I have tried other loads for both of my .221 Furballs (mainly RL-7) but have found nothing that works better than Lil Gun. 16 grains of the stuff with either the Hornady Vmax or the Nosler Ballistic Tip 40 grain bullets are just the perfect combo for me. 5 shots touching at 100 yards and some serious ground squirrel launches with it as well.

I have pretty much settled on Lil Gun as my one and only .221 FB powder. It does it all really well.
