I cannot seem to find a shell holder for a .221fb that will fit a redding press? I know my rcbs shelholders will not interchange with the redding.

The .221 dosent use the same shell holder as the .223, 204 does it?

Why won't your RCBS shellholders and your Redding shellholders interchange. Mine do. So do my Lee shellholders.

yep and .221 brass can be made up using .223 brass with a little work. And for future reference you can use .221 size dies as a bump/neck size die for .223 ammo too.

Idk why they wont. But I assure you the rcbs shell holders will not fit in the T-7.

Thanks for the info about the brass.. I doubt I will ever have to resort to any of that. My local shop seems to keep a steady supply on hand

I'm gonna try some lil gun and some rl7,topped with a 50g Sierre spt for starters.

Then I'm gonna try some 40-50g vmaxes and bts

The last couple years I have mangled every bobcat and fox I've shot with .223s, 22-250s, so I needed to tone it down a bit. I'm hoping the fireball will be just the ticket

I would skip the 40gr VMax if you are after anything larger than skunks. They shoot good but I got some bad splash wounds. Sierra 50 sp work well but you will get exits most times. The 40gr Sierra BK for whatever reason kills the best and no pelt damage in my CZ 1/12 twist. I have not tried the Nosler's yet.
Here is what 40gr Vmax's do to Bobcats... these were broadside at 30 and 50yds.

I have never had a 40 gr Sierra BK do that. Now... the 39gr Sierra in the Tac.20 that's another story.

I can try some blitzkings. I'm not opposed to them. I just had not though about them. This rifle is a M700 LS and it's a 1:14 twist

Yes and those are the entrance wounds and I have at least one more similar.
Now with that being said here is one night's work with the .221FB and the 40gr Berger.

That's a pile of fur! I gotta make a trip to Texas! That's like a whole years worth of fur around here.

Hard to tell from the pic but the Berger looks to be pretty destructive, at least on the grays

Do you have any pics of what the blitz does?

Here are what I found handy. A fox is easy to bow a hole thru even with a 17FB but the .221 and the 40gr Sierra has done very well on cats. No exits on any of these.

Wow. It looks like the blitzkings are the way to go.
Do blitzkings just have a heavier jacket that the vmaxes? What's the secret?

That's a good question. I have heard folks say that when they shoot PD's they get the most spat effect with the Vmax but all I can tell you is that I ran out of Sierra's this past November. Went to Cabela's to get more they were out so I got Vmax's and they shot great at the range but my field results were not so good so I had some Berger's so tried them but had a few runners and some quarter size exits so now I am back to the Sierra. To be honest the only reason I used them at first was because they shot so good in my gun but they do seem to have the most DRT's with no pelt damage and I have not had a splash so far(knock on wood).

Yea they can, I'm not sure what my local shop has on hand. I'm pretty sure they have lil gun, I'm not sure about AA1680 and I think they have 4198. In sure I can find something it likes
