.223 hollow point or soft point for coyote?

My thoughts as well. I keep migrating to trying different poly tips but I generally fall back on HP.

My favorite coyote bullet for the 223 is the 50 grain VMax. My next favorite is a 52 grain HP. I've also used 55 grain VMax's and 55 grain SP's. Any of them will do the job. I don't save fur, but I don't get off on blowing huge holes in an animal either, so I prefer a bullet that doesn't leave a big hole in what I shoot. That is why the 50 grain VMax is my first choice.

50 grain Speer TNT with 26 grains of Benchmark is a great load for coyotes. I haven't had one exit yet and you hit them and they are down.
