.223 Rem 50gr JHP, Federal Value Pack 200 round

Severval years ago I purchase 3 boxes of .223 Rem 50gr JHP, Federal Value Pack 200 rounds each; at Wally World. Wish I had purchased more. I have not been to find this load anymore in even 100 round packs. Does anyone know if it is still sold. All I seem to find is FMJ.

I have 3 of those in the basement. It sure was cheap but it doesn't shoot that well in my rifle.

There was no mention of Remington. it was just a Federal Bluk Pack of 200 rounds of .223 with a 50 gr hp.

Yes, I said it was Federal. Wish I had some more. It grouped under an 1" in my CZ and it groups the same in the H&K 630 that I just purchased. Prices have tripled since I purchase those value packs. I guess I'll just start reloading as i already reload for my AR.

I bought 1,000 rounds in '05 for $53 per 200 from Wally World when I was jumping into 3-gun competitions and then started reloading my own... I think I still have 600 rounds in the ammo cabinet..

It was really accurate for factory ammo in my DPMS 1/9 twist..

I just purchased 600 rounds of this ammunition and it seems to shoot pretty well out of my Savage Model 16 FCSS. I was wondering if people could share their experiences on using this particular round on coyotes. Is it effective at putting them down? Is it a fur friendly cartridge or not so much? Thanks for your time.

Regards,

Chizzy

I tried 3 low cost(under 15/per 20) factory loads from Win,Fed and Rem in my CZ when I got it.They all shot well. You might give those a try.

I got 400 rounds about 4 years back at wally world . The wife shot her first coyote this spring with it . He was dead before he hit the ground.
