.224 34gr Dogtown 22-250

I bought some of those about a year ago. Be careful when you are loading them as I had a few in my box of 500 that was just the jacket with no lead in it. It was pretty obvious when you picked up the bullet that it was an empty shell, but it scares me a bit to think that they might get fired by an inattentive handloader and get lodged in the barrel.

AA2460 ?

Varget ?

Can you say CHEAP ???

Those dogtown pills are something to talk about. I had gotten 500 of them and no load data what so ever. I called midway and asked them if they had any load data or tell me who makes them. They told me "No Can Do" on the load data or the manufacturer. I just loaded them light for a same weight Hornady bullet. Never again..Gave them away..

Dog towns from midway and varmint nightmares from Midsouth shooter are the same bullets, they are made by nosler. Midsouth shooters varmint nightmares are only 42 bucks for 500. I've had pretty good luck with them in 223 and 204.

I am confused...are you saying you never loaded them again because there was no data? There are many bullets out there with no data. Maybe you mean they just shot badly in your gun.

You don't need load data for a specific brand of bullet - load data for ANY 35 gr bullet is fine.

Go here and you will get load data for most anything:

http://data.hodgdon.com/main_menu.asp

If you can't find load data for your bullet weight, then use the load data for the NEXT HEAVER BULLET - it will be fine.

The 34 DogTown bullet is an odd choice for a 22-250 - it has the BC of a marshmallow.

It'll come out of the barrel at the speed of light, but at 200 yds, it won't be able to keep up with a butterfly.

LMAO ; I've had a box of 500 sitting here for a couple years now; may have to load-them-up and see if I can get Minute-of-Marshmallow out of them. LOL

And the rest of the story...........I have a few of these just sitting around collecting dust and I just picked up a beautiful old ruger in 22-250. My hunting partner and I are going to the range this week. All he thinks about is FPS. This is faster than that...speed..speed speed. He will miss every coyote over 150 yds because he always thinks he needs to hold over even though he is shooting superformance ammo out of a 22-250. I get tired of saying "you shot over it's back, again" and "hey, why don't you bring just one gun to the range and PRACTICE shooting it the way you would be sitting hunting at DIFFERENT ranges and get to know your rifle. He's a good guy but if you want him to shoot a coyote you better get it close.

Anyway, I thought I would blow his mind with a "hey check this out" look at the chrono while I shoot this load kinda thing. I'll have have him hook, line, and sinker. He won't even care if it hits the backstop.
