If you are new to metallic reloading I would definetly stay away from 22BR. I've got one in a custom Rem 700 switch barrel and while it performs excellent, I doubt it is worth the hassle (and expense) compared to the ease of using other factory rounds. Before you take the plunge, price out Neil Jones dies, neck turners and 6mm Br brass. I doubt you will find it worth the trouble compared to using any number of factory varmint rounds with readily available, low cost components. If you want the benefits of "short and fat", go with a 22WSSM. Otherwise the 22-250 is a superb cartrige that can easily be backed off if desired and even the plain vanilla 223 does a credible job, is easy to reload and components practically rain out of the sky!
FYI W748 is my favorite powder for 22BR along with with Watson 52 Gr. Trophy Match hollow point bullets.
