If you are going to use a .22LR and use subsonics, stay with head shots at less than 50 yards. Grounhogs are a pretty tough little creature and I would recommend using something like a .22 mag, but close proximity to houses my prevent that. Most definately don't take a 100 yard shot with a subsonic. If you do manage to hit mister hog in the head, he'll probably just have a headache over it!
