22x47 Lapuas, where are they hiding?

Seen a lot of pics of 6x47 Lapua, but have never even seen a round from a 22x47 L.

Does anyone do this? I'm thinking I may have a second barrel made for the 6.5, and I want a 22 something.

Might could do a 22-250, not interested at all in the AI, but I'd really like a 22x47.

Anyone?

If I didn't already have a 22-243 win I would probably do one! Now that Lapua makes brass for the 22-250 there's not much of a difference between the 22x47L and the 22-250! I guess that is if the 22-250 brass is as good as the 47L brass

I've just recently had one built. I'm liking what I've seen so far.

My gunsmith and his best friend have been shooting the 22x47 for at least 8 years and have killed tons of coyotes. Their recipe utilizes 80 grain class bullets.

Just to cut to the chase, build a 6x47L. Slow twist it if you want to run light bullets. It's a straight forward improved, but factory case. You have better bullets and a bit longer barrel life. Just what I have experienced. Plus dies are readily available. It just makes more sense.

I just wrestled this dilemma, albeit in Creedmoor based as opposed to x47....and the 6mm makes more sens in absolutely no way, shape or form.

Well, I've got several 6mm rifles. I just thought I'd add a 22 cal to the mix. Plain old 22-250 is definitely easiest.

I don't see the 22 outperforming the 6mm, but anything is possible. I guess it depends on what type of performance we are talking about.

I do like the idea of factory ammo being available in the event of an "emergency."

My two hunting buddies and I just built hotrod 22's. Two of us built 22 creedmoors and one built a 22x47L. One of the creeds has the 75 amax running 3540 and shooting in the .2"s.

It may not be for everyone but when I want to build something I look for brass availability/brand!!
The 22/6mmx47L will do everything the creed will with less powder and a 1000 times better brass... JMO

I have a .22x47 Lapua barrel on one of my predator rifles. Plenty of accuracy and velocity to get the job done in the open country I hunt. I recently chambered up another barrel for that rifle specifically for a suppressor and like that setup so much that I doubt the .22x47 barrel will get put back on. It's a very capable cartridge.

What's your reamer spec'd at BangPop? I know I'll have to turn the necks, just wondering if it's worth making multiple passes and going with a tight neck.

I'd prefer just to have a no turn and give them a cleanup cut after the first firing.
