243 AI Powders you like for 100 Gr+ bullets

R#19 is the best, start off at 45.5g with a 100g bullet and work up...ain't life a [beeep]???????

Pioneers often end up with their face down in the dirt with arrows in their backs!

Start off a little lower and work up, one shot, .1g at a time till you reach a max load with your rifle.

I use a CCI-250 primer, jam the lands .001.

No freeking telling what your rifle may like, fast twists are a screaming [beeep] unto themselves...no crap! And you thought you were doing what everyone eles was doing? Right.........!!!!

Any 4350 or slower powder will work. At that weight you are probably into the VLD bullets. They generally do best jammed at least .020" into the lands. My best results are jammed about .040" into the lands.
And don't even bother to shoot them at 100 yards. They only show the true accuracy at 200 and preferably at least 300 yards.

Oh know I'm going to shoot 95gr VLDs out of my 6x284 and you say they won't work at 100? Range only lets us shoot at 200 yard range on Friday mornings. But I'm working Friday mornings!

I shot some 105 AMaxes today with R19 and H4350 and they grouped well at 100 yds a couple loads real good. try the good loads again tommorow to see if I get same results. Thanks for the replys. Jim

They will work at 100 but won't show the true accuracy because the VLD bullets take a couple hundred yards to "go to sleep," They will almost invariably shoot smaller MOA groups at 300 than 100.
