i'm wondering how much .243 cost per shot when reloading? loaded with a good bullet maybe a NBT or other good coyote round.

The price for factory stuff is just insane.

Ok I use nosler brass 42.00 per 50 at 5 loads per brass= 250 rounds .17 each load, .03 for a primer,Nosler 95 grain BT's cost .28 cents each, and powder H-4831 sc 43 grains per load .14 in powder so all total. .62 cents per round at 20 is 12.40 per box of 20 and far more accurate than factory and using high end brass.

If you buy 24.00 per box ammo and you can do it for 12.00 then you save 12.00 times 20 boxes and your equipment is paid for.

$0.45 ($9.00/box) for my hot 55gr Nosler BT load
$0.72 ($14.40/box) for my 85gr Nosler Partition

These are extremely accurate loads for well under the cost of factory .243 ammo.

+1 This ^^^^^^

I use 55grn NBT for Coyote and 3031 or Benchmark. Winchester cases at $40/100. More accurate and MUCH less expensive than factory rounds. Mine are less b/c I'm using Win brass but you get the idea. Just factor in what your time is worth.

As far as I am concerned the time is well worth it, because of increased accuracy. In order to match the quality of the components with factory ammo you would have to drop about $35/20 for Federal Vita shok or similar ammo, and then it is only accurate if your gun likes it. Where you really save money in reloading is in finding ammo that is accurate in your gun, and shooting premium bullets.
