.243 Win. ammo advice

I'm going to pick up the T/C Venture in .243 win. that i ordered tomorrow, and was going to pick up ammo for it. I'm looking for a good, clean ammo that isn't going to tear up a coyote too bad. I had heard that the V max bullets can put a hurting on the hides, so i'm looking for a nice light bullet that won't cause so much hide damage and won't break the bank. Most of my shots will be inside 200 yds. Any advice would be great. Also i'm not reloading my own right now, so factory loads are what i'm looking for.

I have a Sako A7 243 that shoots 95 gr core locks great and also just wal mart winchester white box and they drop the yotes without too much damage. I handload and really like the 75gr hornday v-max's but I really dont care about the fur much. I have honestly found that it really just depends on where you hit them. If you hit the shoulder its going to tear them apart regardless of bullet weight.

I have killed many coyotes with the 58 gr. vmax and as I can remember I have had only 2 exit wounds. Most times if you hit them square in the pumphouse, DRT no exit. I did get one which I blew up pretty good but it was cause I shot a little far forward in the chest. I like them, try them out and see if your TC likes them. Good luck

Rubenator...i will have to see just how expensive those ballistic tips are. It might be worth it. But depending on how expensive they are i think i'm gonna take hideandseek's advice and try the Vmax. You never know they might just work out for me.

I loaded up some 65gr Vmax, and some Nosler 70gr BT's. Maybe I should try the 58 Vmax?

Some people have the train of thought that it is better to spend time sewing up a hide than looking for a runner.

A friend of mine shoots a 243.
He uses Hornady 58gr V-Max.
Out of 7-8 coyotes I don't think he has had any exits.
I know he hasn't blown any up.

+1 this. Any of that line of ammo is expensive. Good ammo, though as far as accuracy goes.

I've all but settled on the Winchester Silver Ballistic Tips in 55Gr or the Hornady Custom with the 58 Gr V-max. The problem is finding some. Several places i've checked online they don't have any in stock, and neither do the gun shops around here that i know of. Thanks for all the input...it's great to hear what everyone has to say.

I've killed them with both ends of the spectrum, 55g ballistic tip, which left no exit on a quartering forward shot, and 100g partitions, which leave a small exit, about the size of a dime. I hit one once when I was deer hunting with a 95g ballistic slivertip and it opened him up quite a bit, left an exit hole about the size of a fist.
