.243 Win Shortage

So a while back we all know we went through a shortage on .223 rem/5.56 ammo along with handgun rounds. In my area, I can buy about as much .223 as I want and everyone has it. Ditto for 9mm and the other scarce rounds. What I can't find is .243 Win. I do see a couple of boxes here and there, but it's rather rare.

Does anyone know the reason behind this? Also, if any of you spot Federal Premium 70gr Nosler Ballistic Tips, give me a heads up.
 
Prob because my cousin shot them all.

Last time I was up there he couldn't hit anything.
I have seen plenty of SST here at Bass Pro.
 
Are you kidding? Did you ever hear of a little thing called DEER SEASON!!!!! Just about every son, daughter, wife, and brother in law shoots a .243 Win.
 
Haven't been in Wally World for a couple weeks, but last time I was there, they had a whole case on the shelf at 2 of the 3 three stores I visited, 4 - 5 boxes on the shelf at the other. While it is a popular round here in the south, it's not nearly as popular here as it is in the mid-west.

Personally, I have more than a case on the shelf, but I bought all of that before there was a shortage... (local gun shop closed the doors, had half a pallet of .243 ammo; price was right!)

Is the .243 more popular than .270 or 30-06? I dont recall this issue the last couple of seasons. The funny paert is I cant find the smaller grain ammo. When I do find it, it's 85 gr and up.
 
The 243 is the pred/varmint choice this year I think. We've been getting 243 questions on PM almost daily it seems.

I also think supplies maybe down, since every ammo company was tooled for 223 and 9mm etc during the crazy days.
 
Haven't you heard? Obama is buying up all the ammo and stacking it up in his office in an attempt to motivate the idiots he and Pelosi hired to build the Obamacare website.

It's also his way to enact gun control and reduce crime because as everyone knows, the 243 is the #1 gang banger go-to cartridge in Chicago.

Chicago??? That's impossible! Guns are illegal in Chicago. So, that ammo is useless there.

Powdervalley has nosler brand 243 in stock.. 55gr, 85gr, and 90gr if you are willing to mail order...

Basspro, academy, and most lgs have had a good supply of 243 in oklahoma city.

I was just at cabelas in Sydney Monday and today also, didn't have a single box Monday but there was some 100 grain boxes at $44 today. I didn't need them that bad yet. There were multiple rows of 223 and 270 ammo though
