243 Winchester

Other than a 22-250 I am looking at the 243. I plan on shooting from 200-600 yards. Is anyone use the 243 for competition shooting?

Competition was the intent of Warren Page when he created the .308 win based wildcat. It does quite well, still. David Tubb used a 243 Win for a good while, but has since moved to a shortened version of sorts in the 6 XC.

As for your question, directly, I see no reason it would not work. A quality 243 Win with quality components will pay off well for you.
 
Choosing a caliber is a big decision let alone what make and model of rifle. I have been doing a lot of research through these forums and such. I might look at the 308 as well.
