243 WSSM HELP

Guys, I have been hearing about the 243 WSSSM and it not being all that great of a round!

Can you guys help and and conveince me to either side good or bad!

I get a good buy on Brownings like 40% off and The gun I want dont come in a 25-06. So i might get a 243 WSSM!

Please help!
 
The barrel will not last very long and the ballistics are about the same as the .243 win from what I've heard. Most of the guys that get a .243 WSSM on this board go with it in an AR platform. I was going to get one but I want to be able to shoot my rifles a lot.

I bought one two years ago (winchester). Shot over 60 ground hogs with it this year. Longest shot was 375 yards. Have had no problems as of yet. Hope to do some yote hunting soon. Love the gun. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif
 
you wont be dissapointed, its an awsome round. i love my m70 in 243 wssm. a great flat, and fast shooting round
 
Go with the 25-06! Get a long action 700 and build it!! Yeah it will cost you more money but hey, you only live once!! Ron
 
It will run about 200 - 400 fps faster than the normal .243. I have not heard anything about early retirement due to barrel wear. I love my version in my mod 70.
