.243 wssm

Can't find .243 wssm in Nosler or speer manuals. Called sporting goods outfit and about all they could tell me was its a Winchester super short mag. What is the twist rate,bullet weight and so on. where is its nitch. Is it a bench rest unit. How does it stack up to the wonderful plain Jane .243. Thanks

The 243wssm is on average about 400fps faster than a similarly tipped 243 round. It falls between the .243 and the 25/06.

Super easy cartridge to reload for also. Big noise, but light on the recoil. I bought one for my 2 girls for deer and antelope. They LOVE to shoot it as it has no kick as they put it. They are 12 and 11.

A 243WSSM has basically got the same ballistic characteristics as a regular .243.

The real "niche" for it is in the AR15 platform, where it fits perfectly. The WSSM round fits the AR15 magazine, where the .243 is too long.
