260 REM Bushing suggestions

I just bought a set of Redding Type S FL and NK sizing dies, and I wanted some suggestions for bushing size.

The chamber is cut to SAAMI standards.

Thanks in advance!

Wow! Is 260 Lapua that thick? I'm using a .288 on my 6.5x47 Lapua. Loaded rounds go .290"

OP, load a round with your intended bullet, measure the neck diameter, subtract .002" off that. This is the recommendation from Redding. It works for me.

This is what I do too

If you have a seater die, as Shane said, load a round and measure and subtract 2 thou and your good
If not, you can measure case wall thickness x 2 and add bullet diameter and subtract 2 thou as well, but the seated bullet is the preferred method by Redding

RP brass and I use a .287

I've never used Lapua brass but would assume it has a thicker neck wall than RP

Best is to measure a loaded round and subtract .002 as was said previously

(thickness of the brass x 2) + (dia of the bullet .264) = .000" neck tension.
subtract the amount of neck tension you want to achieve from that number and that will be your bushing size.

I like .002" - .003" neck tension

so lets say my brass is .015" thick, [therefore .030" (Brass x 2) + .264" (bullet dia) = .294"]

.294" - .002" = .292" bushing.

I would buy a ..292" and a .291" bushing
