As usual, a very good point is made by Jack.
Barrel life is one of the reasons the 17 Cooper, 17 Ackley Hornet, 17 Jet and 17 Ackley Bee are my new choices for diggers - and these 4 don't foul barrels either. Alas, they do leave me out of the 1000 yard matches though. Hmmmmm - maybe the 17 Javelina R Ackley Improved ... if shot indoors.
