first of all you are getting way to technical, you sound like my buddy {pyledriver on here}. HA HA. I've used the same arrows for twelve years and cant remember what the weight is on them except that they are carbon arrows 27-28 inches long with a 100gr. fixed 3 blade broad head{cheapo's} with standard tip. Now as I only had 3 arrows left,i tried some i bought for the kids to lose! i recently bought some at wally world for the kids. they are 30" 9.7 gpi carbon express with the little tiny fletching tipped with Troika ST3 broad head cut on contact fixed 3 blade. I'm drawing 55 pounds as opposed to the 80 lbs I started at. can't tell you how fast they are traveling. they are shooting within an inch of my old ones. All I care about is whether or not it hits where I want it to and does it's job. in the past 16 years I have taken home all but two hogs I've shot at. Flat missed one and lost one last week due to crossing into property I couldn't go into.
I usually go for behind the shoulder on hogs under 100 lbs and quartering away shots on big hogs. just behind the last rib and up into the chest cavity. I never get a passthrough, but generally don't need one. when you got half the arrow length sticking out, that sharp end is doing it's job on the inside. They aint goin far!
I tried the new set up on the spotted hog just to see how it would do. seemed to work fine, she ran a little farther than others only by a few yards. Used the old one's on the other 2 about the same penetration. Watched both of them fall within 60 yards.
I rarely take shots over 20 yards at an animal just personal preference. I can shoot targets out to 75 yards.
I've never used mechanical.
hope this helps.
