.308 question

Ok, I am new to predator/varmint hunting, but not to shooting. I own a 308 Chandler Sniper System, which now that I am retired from military and law enforcement has become a deer hunting rifle. I have a 17 HMR rifle and 223 that I can use with no problem. I was wondering if there is any real good 308 ammo out there. I know they use to make the Accelerator rounds with a saboted 224. Not sure if they are still around. are there any good factory rounds with smaller bullets such as 130 grain or so? I really don't have the time or inclination to sit a reload anymore. Any ideas or recommendations?

Hornady makes 110gr TAP round that is supposed to be really accurate. Also, I was at Sportman's Warehouse a couple of months ago and I saw some Federal rounds that were either 125gr or 110gr, I can't remember exactly which. Hope this helps you out.
 
Hornady TAP 308 110gr. ammo, uses a V-Max bullet about 3100 fps and generally very good accuracy. I shoot a Remmy Milspec 5R and the TAP ammo does a great job.
 
Thanks y'll. I wasn't sure how my rifle would shoot the lighter bullets. My barrel is a 20 inch heavy Hart, fluted and threaded. It has a 1 in 12 twist and I normally shot 168 and 175 Match Kings from it. It sounds like the Tap 110s will do fine. I am going top o buy some as soon as I get back from NC next week and try them on the range.

I shoot 150 gr Federal Fusions out of my 308 Carbine and I group about 1 inch at 100 yards with it and since yours is a sniper system I would assume it has a longer barrel so you willprobally group a little under that and they open up real nice on deer. Put one right into thier neck and they drop right there. I havent had one run since I stopped using those winchester and I've shot 12 since then so Ive gotten 12 out of 12 bangflops.
