I have a 40 s&w carbine that i have been working on a load for since last season. I think that i have finally came up with a load that is a very nice 50yd and under yote round. Here in indiana i set up most of the time in a river bottom or just plain in the woods these setups give me short shots. I have been testing speer gold dot bullets with a hand load. I am getting about 2" 5 round groups at 50yds with this round. (3x9 scope) I know this is not rifle type groups that everyone shoots but i have found these bullets to be plain nasty at up to 75 yards (they hold there weight and expand 1.5 times at least). I have no idea how fur friendly this will be, but i am hoping that it will not pass through. I have not killed anything with this round but expect it to only get a pass through if it hits no bone. I know that this is not a normal yote round and am looking for any feed back that anyone wants to give.

Guns that i hunt yotes with as a normal
223 hand load 52gr match hp
12ga #4 shot
just for those that wonder if im quite right with trying a 40s&w

Sounds like fun thats for sure. I recon if laws weren't so tough here in Oz i would use a hand gun in the field just for kicks, but we're only aloud them down the pistol range, sihlouette is the best we can do.
