Going to start reloading for my 40 ... it is a XDsc. What bullets & what powder would you suggest? Please explain yourself. Simply looking for a good, solid starting point.

I load a lot of 40's for my brother and i. I am using 155 gr hornady HP (Guy i get from at show gave me killer deal) and 8 gr of blue dot. Works great for me
 
I use 180gr TMJ bullets and Power Pistol. I tried using Unique as well. It's good powder but does not meter well at all and I use a progressive so I am sticking with PP.

I'm running a 200gr.Speer TMJ with 10gr. of Accurate #9.

#9 meters very nice and is clean burning and works well with heavier bullets. You need to run a fairly heavy crimp on it.

Were are you finding 200gr. TMJs at? I don't even see them on Speer's web sight.
 
Your right they're not making them anymore, but they did at one time. I even found some "lawman" 40S@W loaded with 200gr. TMJ's a while back.

I had these left over from when I used to load for a 10mm and found loading data for them in the 40SW in Accurate's book and Vihtavouri's. And since I had a bunch of #9 left over from my 44 mag. days I ran with it.
