412 Pound buck from Nebraska.

Very Nice Buck

But where is the story you just can't do that to us.Bet you just about craped yourself when you saw that big guy coming at ya

Bill

I hope those guys are pigmies and are not 6'6", 350# steak and potatoe eatin' Nebraskans. If they are pigmies, that is a nice buck. If they aren't that must be one of them Elk/Moose/White Tail hy-brids.

He must have lived next to a feedlot!!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif We pack the pounds on cattle, why not deer! I wonder how much of that was fat? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused1.gif

The angle of some photos can be very misleading. With that said it looks to be a very nice buck. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

The guy who was in the picture with the buck is a guide on a ranch in Indiana. I havent heard the story about him shooting the deer or where. I do not know if it was on the game farm he manages or not. I just know that i saw him at an outdoor expo and he was a guide for somebody in indiana.

That one's been around a while

Been around awhile? Now there's an understatement!
Every hunting site on the internet has a picture of the 412 lb. buck and every one claims he was taken in a different state. By now he has more mileage on him than Anna nicole Smith and is just about as ripe. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Read the snopes article. Either that bozo who claims to have killed the deer can bench press 412 lbs. or his Mathews is set at about 20 lbs. Something smells like fertilizer.

Yeah, there is something fishy here with the story.Maybe the pictures are phony,Photoshop software can do some amazing things with pictutes.

i agree with redeye and oiler, that is a long long time to hold a bow at full draw, the only way i could see it possible is if he had a drawlock on his bow, which i didnt see one in the photo, the article also says he hit part of the spine and the deer ran off,the last deer i hit partly in the spine with my bow fell down to the ground and was dragging his back legs, i had to do a quick follow up shot to finish him, something does smell fishy, it is a nice buck dont get me wrong, story doesnt quite fall together /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I have seen bucks weigh in at 325+lbs, this is what a 320lb buck looks like, notice his neck behind the ears. we taped it at 28" behind the ears.
Buck2005.jpg

his head is lying on my right leg

here is a pic of my buck with my brother holding his head up
