Hey guys I'm trying to help my sisters boyfriend.

He is planing on buying a 5.7X28mm Fn and has big dreams of filing a Form 4 and buying a suppressor for it. He is plaining on reloading it so sub. 1000 fps to get the proper suppression but at that point it will be less affective than a 22lr no? I looked on Midway USA hoping to find bullets in the 60+ grn but they didn't have any 27's or 40's I guess who would want to wast their time reloading a pistol to sub sonic fps right?

So do you guys have any ideas for him?

sorry about the spelling I'm trying to get this typed and posted before the comp. crashed again.

Thank you

No help here... I have a hard time understanding why anyone would want to take a round that has so much potential kinetic energy to be 'effective' and lose that factor...

I understand the desire for the suppressor and for something like a 9mm, I can see 'dumbing' it down for sound effect, but the 5.7 runs a lot hotter than the 9mm...A .45acp doesn't even need and modification...

He'd be much better off working with a .22lr....and a lot fewer headaches..

Thats what I told him but he is in love with the round and would shoot it at the normal fps most of the time.

I think he just has the wants. I guess I should tell him to buy his 5.7 and then get a Ruger Mark 3 or buckmark to suppress.

His $ [beeep]

Thank you OT

Also I don't think virgin brass has ever been available. Once fired is expensive and the round has a laqueur coating on the brass. Pretty much a pain at every turn. You'll find the most info on the round here:

For some strange reason I'd like a little bolt action chambered in this, but will never act on it.

peace.
