T/c makes barrels in 5.7...there has been rumors that companies will begin offering bolt action in 5.7...I just don't know how long that will be til you see them in the market.

I would figure by the numbers it would be pretty good to 100-150yds Maybe 200yds.

I wouldn't look at it as an uber .22mag so much as a .223 ultra-light round, but I guess both would be accurate descriptions. The sporting rounds are generally v-max from what I understand.

A reviewer of the ammo on Cheaper Than Dirt says it's great for killing Mexican Coyotes and his location listed was NM (New Mexico) so seems that some folks use it effectively on coyotes.

I've heard an idea to get a bolt gun built for the caliber, but not heard of any production bolt actions offering that chambering.

I think if you reload it would be pretty great cause it would be significantly less powder than an AR.

The pistols feel good in the hand but spendy. I think this is a better in between round that many existing chamberings. This looks far more promising than the Hornet or Fireball because the .223 covers that very easily.
Not sure why this one hasn't caught on. Maybe if they put the word Magnum behind it. I have heard of several guys building rifles for this round.

I, for one, would, love a bolt action 5.7. My five seven pistol is always at my side, it's my favorite handgun. Very accurate, out of the piston the bullet drops one inch at 100 yard and dispatches large jackrabbits instantly. I can only imagine the performance out of a bolt action with a 18 or 20 inch barrel. I've contemplated the ps90 but it's just to expensive. Ammo is not that expensive, you can find it for $20/50rnds. Which is only 5 buck more than good 22 mag, plus it's reloadable. A magazine lasts me a long time because I don't miss often and the round is so effective.

So if anyone hears of a 5.7 rifle, PLEASE, post it.

Just an FYI Savage is cataloging 2 new rifles chambered in 5.7x28. Part numbers 19144 and 19158. I have no other info on them at this point as they are not cataloged on the savage arms page and my distributors say nothing other than the part numbers and a dealer cost. Sound nice though. They are savage 25 frames.

I own the FnH pistol and love the round. I'm looking forward towards these new rifles.

Looks like the current offerings (at least until Savage gets more press) are only semi's.
