5/8" wrench needed for Buffer Tube Torque on AR

Am I best off to buy an armor’s tool for this or do they sell 5/8” wrenches with a ½” square hole to place a torque wrench in so I can achieve proper torque when installing my buffer tube on my AR lower Build? I’m hoping the local hardware store has one of these. I did see an armors wrench on CDNN for around $20 that might work but I’m not sure.

I use the armorers wrench. Never torqued it with a torque wrench. Never had one come loose. A drop or two of the BLUE loctite will also help but it can be broken loose if you ever need to.

I thought about not using the torque wrench but then thought it was spec'd so the gun would cycle properly based on recoil and the way the buffer moves about in the stock.

If that's not the case then I'll just use the blue loctite which I was planning to also.

Thanks

Torque wrench? Buffer tube? Never used those two things together at the same time. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused1.gif I just tighten mine up by hand. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused1.gif

I'll just do what you guys suggest. I was following the manual instructions link at ARfcom. All manufactures have a spec on the torque for the rifle and carbon stocks. I guess I really don't need to follow it for proper gun operation.

Just don't strip the threads in the lower. If you ever changed spark plugs in your car it is about the same thing they all have factory spec's but get them wrnch tight and it will do just fine.
