I have a Rem. 700 classic in 220 Swift and was thinking about tayloring a load to the 100 or so 55 gr. Nosler ballistic tips I have lying on the reloading bench. Has anyone had luck in their Swift with these pills? Only interested in 220 Swift data guys. Would like any secret loads you guys worked up as I have not started rolling out ammo for the Swift yet. Thanx to all, Rich.

The 55 Nosler BT is the only bullet I have ever fired in my swift. It has never let me down. Using Fed 210 M primer to light up a charge of IMR 4064 has allways worked. Never felt a need to try anything else. It is a very deadly load for coyotes and will really make a PD experience some hang time.

My load runs between 3800 and 3900 fps.

Havent loaded for the swift yet? well let me ask what you want your swift to do? The faster you run them the more accurate they are.Thats fine for paper.

i need a fur friendly round,so my swift sits in my gun safe alot. unless i have paper to bust, a new round to try,or chucks to explode at extreme distances.

What do you want those noslers to do? loaded well they will majicly turn a PD into a chunky pink jell, with a red misty splatter around. On coyotes they will distroy a hide, and kill a dog, bang/flop. fox, well you get the same results hitting it with and ax.

In all seriousness, start with your best load for anyother 50-55 gr load. im sure what your looking for will be close. I can give you the loads i use, but every riflelikes something different. but most swifts like it as hot as it gets!

I've been shooting that bullet for many years in my swifts... Try 37.5 gr of RL15. It is a load that will shoot great in all my swifts and even better in some. Good Luck.

I have never used the Nosler's in my Swift as they are more expensive than V-Max or BK's. I am sure they will do the job!
Like RC, My Swifts prefer IMR 4064. RL-15 is one of the new powders that is getting some use. However, in my are can't get it to perform as well as other folks say. Heavy bullets are what the Swift and 250 are made for in my opinion.

I too have a Remington 700 Classic in Swift. My usually load for it is a 55gr Ballistic Tip over 38.5gr of RL15. Also had good results with 42.5gr of AA2700 shooting same bullet.

1+ on RL15, it's a good recipe for the 55g bullet, there is node between 3750~3850 fps it's an accurate & safe load
