APOLOGIES FOR ACCIDENTLY POSTING IN THE CLASSIFIEDS...THOUGHT I SWITCHED OVER TO FIREARMS SECTION

Over the weekend I put together a Savage rifle for my buddy who was wanting a 6.5 CM. I have been ordering parts for it for the past 3 weeks and luckily the last piece showed up the day I headed down to Missouri. Below is the list of parts and a few pictures. I apologize, the pictures are pretty poor and don’t do the rifle justice. He plans on doing a little long range work eventually but for now he will tinker with it at 500 or less and maybe lug it around on the occasional coyote hunt.

Savage M11 Donor Rifle
Shilen 26” Select Stainless Match with 1 in 8 twist and varmint contour
HS Precision Pro-Series M24 vertical grip tactical
CDI Bottom Metal
Accuracy International Mag
Northland Shooter Supply stainless nut and lug
Timney 2# trigger
Warne 20MOA base and Maxima rings
Glades Armory bolt handle
Leupold MK4 6.5-20x50 (Temporary)

Here is the load he settled on for now with the 95 gr vmax. That is only a 3 shot group. He shot 3 or 4 more just about like it so he punched in 20 rounds to do some coyote hunting with throughout the week.

Here it is resting by its big brother (the 300 WM I put together last year with nearly the same specs)

I will update as he does more load development and gets into the heavier bullets.

I also started assembling a lightweight 243 for my buddy's dad but couldn't finish it because all the parts were not in yet. Here is the before and after with the NSS lug and nut with the McGowen 24" stainless sporter with a 1:8 twist.

Still waiting on the stock, CDI setup, bases/rings, scope and bolt handle. I will start a new thread on it though with all the details.

Thanks for looking!

I agree, should make out to be a dandy.

I was just messing with ya in the for sale section. I couldn't resist. Hope you have fun with it.

Thank ya! On the 300 I had the stock shipped from Stockys straight to CDI and he did touch up work. On this one I had it delivered directly with hopes it would fit. It fit tight into the aluminum block in the mag well and my buddy just took a dremel and ground it out. He also had to dremel the area where the back of the trigger guard mates to the action. Took about 20 minutes and wasn't too bad. if the stock is blind mag I would definitely send it to him and he will inlet for free with the purchase of bottom metal. The stock for that 243 is being shipped directly to him this week because it is blind mag.

Thank ya! I missed it before it was taken down but I assume it was about my Busch league mistake lol.

He wanted a laminate thumbhole and there was no talking him out of it so I ordered a Revolution Tundra. I have never personally put my hands on one but I talked to Jeff at CDI to see if he could inlet it and he said they are some of the nicer laminate thumbholes that he has worked with. We will see how much weight it adds...
