6.5 CM primers for small primer pockets

Definitely stick with mag primers for the thicker cup to helps prevent primer flow around the firing pin or piercing. The hotter primer will also help with positive ignition to prevent hang fires in colder temperatures.

CCI 450’s, BR4’s, and Remington 7.5’s are the way to go.

Load development will tell you which primer to use:

Rem 7 1/2

CCI 450

CCI br-4

CCI 41

Tula or Wolfe small rifle mag primers

All the above have thick cups, which you WILL need!

It was always my understand that CCI 41 and 450 are the same except the 41s have a thicker/harder cup for military applications.

You’re thinking about 400’s. 450’s, BR4’s, and 41’s all have the same cup thickness.

^^This. I run the CCI-450 in my 223ai and 22cm with exceptional accuracy.

I am a pick a component and stick with it until it does not work kind of guy. I have never had an issue get single digit sd without switching primers during load development. I have only used CCI 450s for my small primers.

in my 223 AI with 50 & 55g bullets, either 7 1/2 or CCI BR-4 will shoot bug holes, cci 450's open up the group. Never tried the cci 41's.
