I've been having fun playing with all the different bullets out there thinking might may a coyote rifle with the 107 gr and deer rifle with 130 gr. maybe an occasional match with 140 gr.

Keith, if you want to hunt varmints, then the 95g V max is a good place to start. The 107 match kings will probably not make a good varmint bullet because of unknown expansion capabilities.

Short range deer hunting a 100g Nosler partition would be excellent. For the longer range deer hunting(300 yards+) many bullets would fill that need, 130g accubond if you like that bullet weight.

As time goes on, I am sure that the 6.5 Creed will be used by many people with the 95g V max and it will NOT be fur friendly. Sierra used to make a 85g HP, you can check on that bullet also for predators.

good luck!

thanks for the input, not sure if it will turn into my go to rifle but has been nice having so many bullets and components to play around with.

I with this guy ^^.

I have tried the tailoring loads to applications thing and I can say for certain that unless it’s for the sake of research like you’ve been doing, just find a suitable bullet and load them exclusively. It helps when you don’t try to make a rifle into something that it is not.

In your case, I’d suggest a 130 Berger Hybrid or 130 Berger HVLD. They’ll work fine for all of the above.

I shoot h4350 and hornady 140. Currently waiting on it to cool off to try re26 with some different bullets in a new 6.5 tikka ctr. Cant go wrong with most 6.5 bullets

If you want a good hunting bullet try the Speer 140 grain Grand Slam. I shoot the GS for every thing I hunt that is eatable. Iv'e never had one fail to expand or blowup.

I’m trying rl26 and 142g accubond. What you guys doing for seating depth how far off the lands? I am shooting the 140eldm for steel but haven’t exactly piled in on a final load playing with rl16. Might try rl26 also if I don’t like my results with rl26.

I'm using 2.820". It works out to around .070" off the lands and has been working really well. I am getting around 2850 ft/s out of a 22" barrel.

You will need to use a drop tube or some way of settling the powder in the case.

I have shot a lot of coyote's with the 107 gr. Sierra TMK in a 6.5 Grendel at 2650 fps muzzle velocity and a 6.5 Creedmoor with a muzzle velocity of 3080 FPS and it is a excellent coyote bullet.

The seating for me is about .080 off the lands, I normally push then out closer but ended up as far as I could and still fit in the mag and feed ok.

I think I may know the answer to my question already, but when shooting the 107 tmk at yotes what kind of damage are you seeing on the fur? I've shot two coyotes with my 6.5CM and some factory 143 eld-x and holy [beeep] its not pretty. First one was at 450 yards and the yote ran off. Its entire right side was covered in blood, but it ran off none the less... The second one was a 150 yard broadside shot and I literally watched chunks of fur/hide fly off the back side of the yote.... When I went and picked up the yote there was patches of hide stuck in the bush behind it... would love to use my 6.5cm for more coyote hunting, but I'm not going to if I can't find a load that does less damage.

Most of the time the 107 TMK is not to bad on the hides. The 85 gr. sierra is also a very accurate bullet that you may want to try.
