6.5 end cap on a nomad 30

I think I read it takes 3 db to make a difference to the ear.

Guessing it's doubtful the new cap would do that.

I have a Silencerco hybrid 46…I can swap the end caps for .223 to .46
They state 2-5db difference by using correct cap size for caliber…so .223 through the 46cap would be up to 5db louder than using the correct 223 cap.

I also have the 46. I use the cap that came with it for the 450BM deer hunting. Everything else I use a 30 cal end cap. From the research I did, it's not worth the money for the .22 cal end cap. I noticed SilencerCo discontinued their 6.5 cap. I don't think it would be worth it at all for the OP to get the 6.5 cap.

I will agree, save your $$ unless it really bothers you…I just have the 1 can for everything so I got all the available caps.

I run a 6.5mm end cap on my Nomad LT with 22 Creedmoor. It is a little more quiet. I would like to try the 22 caliber end cap to see if it helps even more just for my own curiosity but the 308 end cap is good enough in my opinion.

The average drop when sizing to caliber and not over bore is 3 DB...
NOW here is the real crazy chit....

The AFT just recently dictated in words that end caps are actually
parts of a can that should be serial numbered and licensed....

I shit you not ....This is why AB suppressors cannot send me a 22 cal end cap
for my 30 cal Raptor...

and since its a licensed 30 cal can cannot have a 22 cal part on it ...
LOL ...Id cry if it wasn't so funny...

swapping end caps is NOW illegal....

there are some out there to be found ...1.375" x 24 hub ....
Rugged and JK Armament are 2 .......but getting scarce ..

22 cal....... yes they sure do drop it (sound signature) on a bolt gun especially
in 22 cal compared to 30 cal ....

That is all......

No. Firearm muffler or silencer parts transferred between qualified manufacturers for further manufacture or to complete new devices, and firearm muffler or silencer replacement parts transferred to qualified manufacturers or dealers to repair existing devices, need not be marked at the time of transfer. Any new device completed with such a part must be registered by the manufacturer. See 478.12(b). A subpart of a firearm muffler or silencer that is not a component part of a complete weapon at the time sold must be identified by an individual serial number. See 478.92(a)(1)(iv).
