6.5 re-loading

I just picked up a Remington Model 700 5R Gen 2 in 6.5 Creedmoor. Looking for some suggestions on loads, brass, bullets, powder etc..
Thanks!!

From what I have read on the net, the Creed is the wonder round of a life time, everything from field mice to Kodiak bears.
Any powder any bullet out to 1500 yards. It should not be hard to find any information you want or just make up your own.

Starline srp (cci450 currently but have also used the remington 7.5)
42.5 grains of RL16
142 grain ABLR
2.820" COAL
2,762 ft/s out of a 22" barrel

I also ran H4350 out of it for a time, excellent results but the velocity was around 2,640 ft/s.

41.5 grains of Reloader 17 with a 140 grain BTHP match from Hornady. 2725 fps out of my 22 inch barreled Ruger American Predator. 2780 fps out of my 24 inch barreled Savage 10 predator.

Berger 140 hunting VLD, Reloader 16, CCI BR2 primers in Hornady brass has worked very well for me. Brass has 5 reloads, necks and primer pockets are still in great shape. 2860fps from a 24" Kimber.
Had this load up to 2980fps with no pressure signs but backed off to save the barrel wear.

Don't be offended by Jetman.

I got a good laugh out of that. He is making fun of the general interneter's. Not you.

Sierra has a free app with their load data and give insight as to which powders work best in there cartridge description.

Hornady also has a free app, but the load data is not free. However, the cartridge description section is.

Read up on those two. You will find the recommended powders to inline what others have posted above, and inline with each other.

And Jetman.... I thought it was 2500 yards, not 1500???

Yes, burn rate near 4350, or slower. My neighbor raves over his Creedmoor, I have nothing against it. I’m content with either of my two 6.5 Swedes in the 6.5 option. What was old is new again, though in a shorter cartridge.

Got to love the Jetman!!!

One of the 6.5 sleeping giants is the 140g Hornady bthp, easy to tune and super accurate. Varget, R#15, and the 4350's have worked well for me.

When you get serious about a Creed, invest in some Lapua brass...very tough brass compared to Star and Hornady if you like to stomp on the gas petal.

Also, the Barnes Long range 127g was exceptionally easy to tune in three different calibers, 6.5x47L, 6.5 Creed, and 6.5x55 custom

I prefer the 6.5x47 Lapua over the creed due to practically same velocity on each, and a much shorter length on the '47 making for more friendly magazine constraints.

The creeds that I have owned liked top end pressure/accuracy nodes, hence why I love Tough Lapua brass...best money you can spend.

I agree with Ackleyman lapua brass. They now make large rifle 6.5 creedmoor brass too. I use h4350 with 140eldm at about 2760 very accurate.

H4350 and 140 eldm in two different 6.5 creeds. Also good luck with hornady 140 hpbt and 140 sierra hpbt. I have some 130 grain sierra gamechangers as well but havent loaded any yet. Tried some re26 and im sure i could have found a good load but h4350 was just easy to find

I shoot 42 grains of H4350 and the 130 Game Changer's and get very tight groups in my Savage. My smith used 43 grains in his Browning with the same bullet. His load in my rifles opens up a little so I'm staying with my load.
