6.5 varmint bullet

Hey all! I've got a 6.5 X 257 Roberts that I have loaded with Sierra 85 gr. HPs, velocity approx. 3100 fps. I figured these would make good loads for woodchucks. They are accurate enough, and I have only shot 1 so far, but I was a little disappointed in the terminal effects. Made a 1 1/2" exit hole, instant death with insides jelly. Dead is dead, but I though they would be a little more explosive than this. Would the Hornady 95 gr. Vmax be more explosive? There are lots of houses around these parts and want to minimize the chances of a ricochet, etc. The Sierra bullet just stayed together better than I thought it would. Anyone use the 6.5 Vmax?

I use a 95 gr. Vmax in my .260 Rem.....very similar ballistics as your Bob. Thus far only prairie dogs have felt the wrath of the max. Very violent and as accurate as the Sierra.
