I have not been able to find do these bullets have a thin or thick jacket? I know that different companies put different thickness jackets on there match bullets. Anyone with any real world hunting experience with them would be helpful. Thanks

Don't use the 68's as they don't seem to shoot well in anything I have ever tried them in over the years. I would look at the 69 Sierra's.

from my experiences the 68's shoot just as well as the 69's but I'd really encourage the 68's for hunting deer(assuming hunter is capable of using a 223 for deer). The reason is that my buddy who uses his AR loads 69's for his deer loads and the deers that he nails does not go down very easy-even though shot placement was good. So now he's shooting the sierra 60gr hp's which gave better results. I shoot the 68's and it's way better in the terminal performance catagory. the 69's don't expand/frag as well as the 68's.

The 68 H and the 69 S both group well in my 223 savage tactical. My experience with the 69 on broadside coyotes was small exits and runners. The 68 seems to expand better. Havn't used it enough to make a fair comparison but seems to put'em down quicker.

if you gun has the 8-1 twist use the 77 gr sierra macth black hills.they shoot tiny groups and do a awesome job on deer and hogs.i have shot 4 does and around 50 hogs with them.the hogs where all neck and head shots.

The key to these bullets in my experience is vel. They need to run fast to do well. Short bbl AR's don't produce as much vel with these bullets. I have not had problems with the 69's and runners. They usually have a large hole in them and they don't go anywhere.
