Hello all I need help. Does anyone have load data for a 6mm rem and 107 smk or 105 amax. Heres the twist. Looking for load data with reload 17. I have been using h4831, but I really want to try reloader 17. Please, I need help.

I only shoot 85 yo 95 gn bullets in my 244 Rem. If you decide to try them I can let U know what my loads are. The 95 gn Nosler Partition is very accurate in my rifle; best of all loads tested.

Alliant doesn't list any loads for the 105 or 107gr bullets with RL17. They do list a load with Power Pro 4000MR with the MAX being 44.0gr Compressed.

Don't know if this will be of any help, but according to my Sierra Manual and looking under 6mmbr Remington, a 107 gr SHPBT calls for a 7" - 8" twist barrel and lists RE -15 as one of 9 powder possibilities. Hollar if you need the ranges on any of those that include H322, Varget and RE-15 to name just a few. H4831 and RE-17 are NOT among them.

chefpierre, I hope you have a barrel with an eight twist or else the bullets that you are wanting to shoot will not stabalize.

Good luck!

Yup-per an 8 twist, 27" from sharp shooter supply. I had posted pics of this build previously but here we go again.

I do have the sierra manual, and no reloader 17 is not among the powders listed.

Alliant has 6MM reloading data for RL 17 on their web page. They have load date for:

70 gr. 48.5C 3682 Col. 2.775
80 gr. 46.7 3500 " "
85 gr. 46 3441 " "
100 gr. bt 44 3163 " 2.800

I load for 6mm imp 45 grs with 105 gr berger I really like it.

I would start at 41 grs. and work up.

Disclaimer! The following data was generated via QuickLoad, and does not take into account any individual gun specifics, powder lot variances, etc......

With the 105 AMax with a COAL of 2.825, the window for RL17 is 39-42 grains. Pressures climb quickly when approaching the top end. This does, though, appear to be one of the better powders for this chambering and bullet, although RL19 would perform slightly (~50 fps) better, while yielding a better casefill.

The most accurate was 41 grains of reloader 17. Punched out a 3" group at 600 yards. I was very pleased. Does anyone have an estimated muzzle velocity with a 27" ss barrel, with cci 2oo primers. Any thoughts?

The actual burn rate of your particular lot of powder, the actual capacity of your cases, the actual dimensions of your chamber, etc., can all have an effect on your actual velocity, but......using QuickLoads "default" settings for the above, you should be running a touch over 3100 fps. I've found QL to be in the ballpark, usually, with it's default settings, but you could actually be running 150 fps either way.
