Anyone out there have any ideas as to why they put that knurl just forward of the web area of Lake City "Match" brass????? The newer LC LR brass doesn't have it. Other than to help it stick in a chamber what possible reason or purpose could it serve???? I have never seen this addition on any other brass except some military {cant remember if it was Lake City or not} 38 Special brass, and it was not match. I think it might have been a little further up the case too, but same identical looking stupid little knurl. Thanks in advance for any info.

It was placed there to keep the brass from being reloaded. Far enough down in the case body to cause issues if you want to reuse it.

M852 is at times confused for M118. The lines are to indicate "Not for use in combat" before the U.S. decided the stigma associated with hollow points was no big deal and just renamed them "OTM".

You can reload it fine, although in gas guns it may not last as long as in bolt guns. And may not last as long as "un-marked" standard brass even then.

3 to 4 reloads max seems to be the consensus amongst the folks I have visited with about the brass.
