I recently finished my AR 80 % lower, and I was just curious, will I be able to sell this down the road? I really don't plan on selling it but if I do, can I? I did put numbers on it for a serial number. Thanks ahead of time guys.

Yes
First mistake was putting markings on it at all. That's kinda the point.
But yes, you'll be able to sell it, as long as you have the rest of the markings on it as well.

I put the numbers on it as it is going to be a using gun and packed around in my truck. I did not want the hassles of being stopped and having the police claim I had removed the numbers. Just having numbers of my choice on the gun does not mean it will be registered, just hassle free. I know you don't have to legally put any on it, but this will just keep the gistapo off my butt. Thanks everyone for your replies.

Wrong and Wrong.
You do not need to "register" it to sell it. With or without a serial #.

ATF only SUGGESTS you put a serial # on it. A serial # will make it easier for the gun shop to DROS it during the PPT. But it is not required.
Even then, a DROS is NOT registration. Only a record of sale.

That's not going to keep ANYTHING off your butt. Having a bunch of numbers on the side, but none of the other traditional firearm numbered markings isn't going to make it any easier for John Q Peace Officer to know what he's looking at. It's going to probably look MORE fishy if it's not marked exactly how a factory firearm would look, where if you just left it blank...the only thing you would ever have to say is that "Home build rifles don't need to be marked or registered."
Print off a copy of the BTAFE rules stating it, and leave it in your truck.

If you do an NFA build, then you DO have to do all the engravings, but you also have to do the paperwork (Form 1) before you ever even start building it.
It's the same paperwork if you wanted to build a suppressor, or Short Barreled Shotgun. You have to do the Form 1 and submit the $200 tax before you start building.

The addition of the serial number only muddies the waters, if you sell it there is the implication of a legally manufactured and registered receiver (not that home made is not legal). My point above with a lot less words.
