87 gr v max out of a 700 243 Is anyone shooting this bullet if so what powder?

Hi I am going to use 87 gr v max out a 700 243 what powder? I have imr 4350 h4350 varget RL 15 and 19. Few others.

I was going to suggest IMR 4064 also, but I haven't loaded 87gr Vmax bullets with it. I have loaded 85gr Sierra HPBTs and had really good results.

I used to shoot a lot of both the old Hornady 87 gr. BTHP and newer 87 gr. V-Max along with the Sierra 85 gr. HPBT over a dose of IMR-4064 or sometimes IMR-4350. Never not worked...

In my Remington 700's here is an example for you to use:

37.3g of IMR 4064, fed 210 primer

42.5-43.0g of IMR 4350, 9 1/2, or Win primer

44.5g of R#19, win primer only FASTEST LOAD OF THE THREE

I the 87g HPBT is a very, very accurate bullet, easy to tune, and I prefer this bullet over the V max version.

These are examples of my loads, they may be too hot for your components and barrel, so start lower and work up to my loads.

Two other bullets you should keep in mind is the 80g Sierra Blitz BT and the Nosler 80g ballistic tip.

I fount some imr4064 but can't find any fed 210m just all 210. My buddy shoots the Sierra 85 gr hp over imr 4064 I think is the powder. I have 300+ 70 gr Berger hp they no longer make.

Varmint master if you look in the nosler manual, they list an accuracy load with their 70g with H4350 with a win primer, that is a great load in my 700's. Back off 2.0g and work up, IMR works well also with the Berger 70g.

This load is very fast, and very accurate!

There has been very little H4350 come into the country of late.

H414 is a wonderful powder for the 87s.

I shot that bullet for a long time on the lands with 4064 and a BR2 in Hornady brass. It actually produced the smallest group that gun ever fired, though the 95 Berger was consistently more accurate.

IMR 4064 is a great powder in the 243. As is Win760/H414

I shoot IMR 4166 with the 87 VMAX, very good coyote load. With a .400 BC, it will stretch pretty good at distance as well. I am getting 3150 fps out of a 21" barrel, suppressed.

The 87 grn V Max is a superb bullet out of the 243. I've shot most of the powders listed here with it and most shoot very well. My two favorites are IMR3031 and H100V.
