870 marine magnum

Yo!

Just wondering if anyone here has a Remington 870 Marine Magnum? If so, how well do you like it? WHat do you use it for? How does it pattern? Can I mount an 870 express slug barrel on it? Just looking for the lowdown on this beautiful shotgun.

I have an Rem 870 marine. I love it. its a fun gun to shoot, i use it for coyote hunting W/#4 buckshoot. And i think that a slug barrel will fit as long as it will fit in a magnum receiver. you can go to cabelas web site(in the shotgun barrel sectoin)and i think it tells you what barrels fit on what gun.

kingnate, you can buy other barrels for your 870. i have several of them, although i use them mainly for duck hunting. huskerland has put you on the right track. cabelas does offer a variety of barrels, so look at the chart in their cataloge CAREFULLY,as it can be some what confusing.be sure you are ordering a barrel for a 3" chamber/receiver and not 3.5. they do not interchange. the slug barrel you mentioned is refered in their book as a " DRS" barrel, which stands for "deer rifle sight". if i remember correctly this barrel is sold with a cantilever scope mount. hope this helps.
