9MM Revolver

Anyone ever shot one? How much do they buck? I bought one for my wife for her birthday. I'm waiting for the background check to go through. I guess if it bucks to hard, I'll just have to keep it for myself and buy her a 38.

Shot a ton of 9mm and the whole spectrum of 38 sp. Doubtful she would see a notable difference in buck. Generally in factory ammo 38 s shoot heavier bullets but 9mm s shoot faster. In similar weight guns...not much difference.

It should be almost the same as the same gun in .38 Special. Certainly no worse than it would be shooting .38 +P ammo anyway.

9mm is loaded to higher pressure than your typical .38 Special is which is why they can get faster speeds out of a smaller case.

With the right ammo either of them would be a fine carry gun.

Oh, you can get light .38 Special ammo such as wadcutters for practice. The same cannot be said for the 9mm.

The gun weighs 22.5 ounces, I think. One of the main reasons I bought it was because I have a butt load of 9mm ammo.

I also know if anything ever happened to me, she would be lost with the semi. She will shoot them but won't take the time to learn about them. She would be fine with the simplicity of the revolver. I'm just happy with the fact that she wants a gun and can shoot it.

There sure is a lot to be said for the good old double action revolver. Load it up and put it in a drawer and 50 years from now will fire with a pull of the trigger. Pretty comforting.

I keep a .38 Special in my car, one in my truck, a .357 in my Honda Goldwing and a .44 Special in my bedroom. I guess that I am a fan of double action revolvers for defense you could say.
