I think you said you were jamming the bullets so I changed the start pressure to acknowledge that and with a 26in barrel and 93gr Varget QL says it would be around 3128fps with a 285gr bullet compared to 2700 with 93gr Retumbo. That's a pretty significant difference in speed. The HUGE difference is the pressure which is 135,000psi
compared to 55,000psi with the normal load.
Defensive Edge did a similar test a couple years ago with one of their actions. It's amazing just how much abuse these things will take.
I was mainly referring to the pistol powder test. As the powder gets more "correct" for the cartridge, obviously over-pressure loads would create crazy velocity.
You should post the pressure curve on that varget rundown. I'm betting it's significantly more mellow than the N320 curve. Almost 126,000PSI in the chamber with 100% burn before the bullet even moves an inch. Talk about a bomb. If that isn't a testament to the strength of these rifles, I don't know what is!
