A good set of Bibs?

Couple weeks ago went out to the desert and my buddy had a spare set of carhart insulated bibs. they where really warm and great to throw over my clothes without having to take boots off. The material was similar to brush pants on the outside.

Only thing is they are heavy, VERY expensive, and don't come in camo.

Wondering if anyone has experience with cheaper bibs? Maybe the dickies? Cabelas has their own brand they looked good but don't have my size. Camo would be preferable so I could use them hunting dogs, upland, or around camp.

Any other brands to check out?

carhart does make them in camo, for even more money. cabelas dont have your size? really? are you super little or big? try bps . if big try big camo.com if they can outfit the refridgerator they can do anyone. they go up to something like 8xlt.

I think camo is way overrated. Just look at a deer or coyote. They have pretty basic coloration and sometimes just seem to disappear in front of you.

Yes I still have and sometimes wear camo, but I like my brown duck bibs, cheaper too.

The old market hunters sure put the hurt on game with their Elmer Fudd red flannel tops and blue jeans

My wife bought me some water fowling bibs from BPS two Christmases ago and they are by far my favorite hunting clothes. They are warm, water proof, and made of ripstop fabric. I have used them for two seasons now, and they are still in great shape.

I use some Walls brand for Work, hunting and play. Warm and comfy. I'm with the others on the camo, overrated. Get the duck colored ones and let em get a bit dirty. G2G!!

Yeah I have called them inside 20 yards with my tan colored brush pants on and i've never used a camo gun either. A place up the street from me has the carharts and dickies I will try them on tomarrow.

I usually just wear my Carhart pants or Bibs when I go hunting. Unless its raining or snowing then I wear my Gore Tex stuff.

You're right they aren't cheap but a pair of Bibs should last you several years.

I bought 3 sets of camo bibs from Cabela's bargain cave last spring. They fell apart after a couple washings, if I even looked at mesquite they would tear too.

Good work bibs for me for now on.

Yes Carhart's do cost more than some other bibs, but you get what you pay for. I had a pair that lasted 8-10 years before they finally fell apart.
Another option is Tractor supply, they carry the Schmidt brand that are also very durable, for less money than Carhart and they're on sale right now. Maybe the link below will work. If not just google tractor supply, then select insulated work clothing.

I think I am going to get the carhartts. Amazon has the medium weight biberall for 68 bucks shipped.

Or they have the arctic biberall for 99 shipped. This one is not cotton and should make a serious brush pant aswell as offer more water resistance.

Can't decide which one to get. The arctic might be too heavy and overkill. Then again if i'm getting the bibs out it must be brutal cold.

I just wear cheap key bibs from the farm store.
Blue denim and fairly light weight.
I think they run around $25-$30
That's about the only thing I wear anymore.
