A little action

Since November 22 I have been out 7 nights for a total of 27 sets. Between commitments, weather, and me being under the weather, I haven't hunted as normal. Of those nights I only heard howls 3 times and saw 3 coyotes way too far to shoot at (for me anyhow-maybe not Duhh or the others on here that shoot 400+ :)) and another that was at about 200 when I looked up from the remote after hitting a howl, to which it quickly retreated-LEARNED THIS LESSON AGAIN, don't change to a loud sound without re-scanning first.
Had to send the xg50 back for an internal battery problem (they think that is the problem) so I made the jump to the 50mm Oneleaf on a Black Friday special from them for 29% off. So far, I am very happy and don't know which will be my primary-the Thermion has returned.
Both of these kills happened in less than 8min and to a mix of bird and rabbit which is a very quick kill time for me. The first must have been out of a late litter or the runt because he mighta weighed 20#. This set had me calling a small hollow to my E with a SW wind. The call was about 60y to my S, and he came from the S. 110yds per the LRF after the kill. He came from where my second set on that ridge was to be, so I went there next with no action.
The 2nd vid was a big male at 135 yds ranged the same way. I am set up at the junction on a main N/S hollow with an W to E offshoot hollow with a small treelined creek which he must have come out of. The call is about 50y to my N/E which I mute as soon as I see him. This place they can come from 360 and I can see 360 (rare for me) so by the time I make the circle he is due E and staring in my direction. The gun is pointing SE and between me moving the tripod and adjusting to try and guess where the bullet will go so as not to hit one of the high tensile fence wires I think he got nervous and was leaving. I have had a sore throat and cold for over a week and am sucking on 'Hall's' so have not had the diaphragm in my mouth so had to make some kinda sound to stop him. After hearing how poor that sounded, I turned off the audio in the scope:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:.

Congrats on the double, Mike. Just curious… Is there PIP on the Oneleaf? Hope you’re feeling better.

I’ve made it out 2 times and made 7 or 8 sets since my last successful stand. It’s been quiet with no sightings and only 1 set getting a vocal response from afar.
