A Quick Two

Conditions just haven't been good since my opening night 12 coyotes. Recently, there was about a 3-4 hour window where the wind was forecasted to let up. I wasn't going to drive my typical 2-3 hrs each way to only hunt for a few hours. I drove to some closer land and got a few stands in before the wind picked back up and got these two coyotes.

Great patience!
What game caller do you use?
I used a Wildlife Technologies for years until it recently crapped out on me. Now looking for another.

I used a WT for many years. At the time, I felt they had the best coyote vocals on the market. Unfortunately, they hadn't updated their library for many years (not sure about lately), so I moved on to other options. My biggest complaint was their older systems didn't allow uploading of other sounds.

I currently run a FoxPro X2s on calm stands and a FoxPro XWave on windy stands. FoxPro has recently done a nice job adding sounds to their library to make it more competitive. I use a lot of Tony Tebbe (Predator University) and other sounds as well. For me the caller is more about the remote control and features. It has to allow me loading my favorite sounds or I will not consider it.

It is kind of strange. I had a Shockwave and never had any problems with range. Then I moved to a Krakatoa II for extra volume. I had issues even with the call on a tripod with range. I sent it in to FoxPro and they tried a lot of different things and replaced the call and remote and still had issues. I also had a CS24c and it had the same issue. I would find myself having to raise the remote above my head, etc to try and get the call to respond at times.

Now, I have replaced those two with the X2s and the XWave, and I again have zero issues with range and all of these models use the TX1000 remote which I absolutely love. There is something about the style of call and antenna on the Krakatoa and CS style that limits the range for some reason. I would feel comfortable probably out to 400 yards with the X2s and XWave.

Thanks for the info, my old foxpro firestorm has the tx9 remote and that range is horrible and always has been, looking to upgrade just not sure too what yet. Buddy of mine has the lucky duck revolt and I really like that but still undecided
